Q1 2020- Induction dinner at the French Club
January 24 was our annual induction dinner. We  enjoyed a six course meal prepared by Lionel at the French Club in San Francisco and the meal was paired nicely with wines from Chrissa Imports. It was a very intimate dinner and it will be a great time to catch up with our members.  Even though we had no new inductees this year it was so very nice to just catch up with everyone who attended.  I hope that the 2021 induction dinner will have new inductees. Thank you again to Andreas Hildebrandt for the marvelous wines and Lionel and Marcus for an unforgettable evening that we had at the French Club

Q3 and Q4 2019- We did not have any events scheduled
Q2 2019- SF Giants, WineFest

The San Francisco Giants hosted a wine mixer prior to the baseball game against the Milwaukee Brewers on June 15th. Those who attended the event sampled several wines from wineries from across Northern California while enjoying live music. We had 11 of our members and 3 guests attend this event and it was such a BALL! The Giants pulled out the 8-7 win in the 9th inning.  

Q1 2019- Induction Dinner
On Friday, January 18, 2019 we celebrated the 46th annual Feast of Saint Vincent with a new inductee to our San Francisco chapter. The five course dinner included a Wild Mushroom Soup, Chilean Sea Bass, Seared Duck l'Orange, Cheese and finally a Molten Chocolate Cake for dessert. All was paired with amazing French wines provided buy Crissa Imports. We welcomed in James Marihart as our newest member. 

Q3 2018- July 6th: Winefest at the SF Giants game
Another fantastic night at the Ballpark with great wine tasting beforehand. This was the 2nd year in a row we have done this winefest. We tasted wines from Castello di Amorosa, Sterling, Beringer and many more. We had 8 members and a total of 12 people attend and it was a great night with a great Giants win!

Q2 2018- Caymus and Spring Mountain
The Q4 2017 was rescheduled for Sunday, May 20th. We ventured out to Caymus Vineyards and had an intimate tasting experiance on their beautifully landscaped grounds. We samples wines made by the Wagner family- Caymus, Mer Soleil, Emmolo and Conundrum. We then ventured over to Spring Mountain and they did not disappoint. We sampled many handcrafted limited production wines modeled after some of Franch's finest. With only 6 members in attendance, it was small but it was a great day!

Q1 2018- Induction dinner at the French Club
January 19 was our our annual induction dinner. We inducted 3 new members: Kathryn Anderson, Nelson Knuth and Steven Ventrello. Welcome to our confrerie. We enjoyed a six course meal prepared by Lionel at the French Club in San Francisco and the meal was paired nicely with wines from Chrissa Imports. It was a very intimate dinner and it was a great time to catch up with our members. Thank you Steven for playing the accordion, Sylvia for the marvelous wines and Lionel and Marcus for an unforgettable evening at the French Club

Q4 event at Caymus and Spring Mountain - Cancelled due to the wine country fires. Will be rescheduling this event for Q2 2018

Q3 2017 Event: Friday, July 21st: Wine Fest at the Giants Game
Back by popular demand, the Giants hosted the annual Wine Fest Presented by LOCA, The Wines of Lodi, California! Whether you're a wine connoisseur, casual wine taster or just a fan looking for a fun pregame activity, this Wine Fest was a great success. It was attended by 9 of our members and 15 members RSVP'd. Our special event package included a ticket to the Friday evening game against the Padres, access to the pre-game Wine Fest in Lot A and a Giants themed Reusable Wine Pouch! Several wineries from the Lodi region were on site providing tastings. Even though the Giants lost in extra innings it was a fun event that we hope to do again next year!

Q2 2017 Event: Sunday, May 21st (Rutherford Ranch Winery and Jamieson Ranch Winery)
1st Stop: Rutherford Ranch
    The Chocolate and wine pairing will introduce your taste buds to as cascade of complex flavors and profiles. This educational experience allows you to challenge your taste buds, learn how food and wine pair together, and of course, sweeten up an day!
2nd Stop: Jamieson Ranch
    An educational cheese and wine experience in the Observation Gallery with a sensory tasting for your palate. Jamieson Ranch Vineyards meld time-honored techniques with the modern advances in high-quality wine production to craft their expressive portfolio of wines. The grapes are sourced from their estate vineyards, as well as other exceptional properties throughout Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Special guest appearance- check out the photo gallery to see who it was. 
This was a great day attended by 15 members and guests and was a truly culinary experience

Friday, January 20, 2017- Induction Dinner at the French Club
On Friday, January 20, 2017, we celebrated the Feast of Saint Vincent with 2 new inductees to our San Francisco Chapter.  52 members and guests enjoyed a five course meal paired with amazing French wines at the French Club. I again would like to welcome and congratulate Ari Hoffman and Eric Singer. Thank you everyone for making our Saint Vincent Feast/Induction    dinner Saturday night an unforgettable evening.


Sunday, October 16th: Harvest Tour at Hanna Winery- CANCELLED
Our Fall event will take place at Hanna Winery. The bountiful season is upon them at HANNA Winery and they are
excited to host us at their Harvest Tour! It’s your chance to go behind the scenes! Bring your camera and questions as
their wine ambassador will walk us through the winery to view their wine making process and even walk by their crush
pad. During this tour, we will have the opportunity to taste along the way, from berries in the vineyard, to sampling
wine maturing in the barrels. After this comprehensive cellar experience we will taste their current release accompanied by a picnic lunch. Limited to 20 people. Cost is $50 Member / $60 Non Member

Saturday, July 16th: Dinner are Jeanne D'Arc

On July 16, our SF Confrerie chapter and guests took over Le Restaurant Jeanne D’Arc for the summer
event. Even a few days after Bastille Day, there was no letting up on the celebration which started with Rosé
Champagne and amazing appetizers in the Café Jeanne D’Arc room. We then ventured down to the main
dining room where a six course dinner awaited. Mr. Lambert along with chef Tetu again prepared a culinary
masterpiece which included Seafood, Lamb, Filet and of course the amazing Grand Marnier Soufflé. A
magnificent accordionist provided the dinner entertainment! It was another phenomenal dinner at Jeanne
D’Arc and we look forward to another event there in the future.

April 30, 2016: Wine Blending at Buena Vista Winery

Another great day was experienced in the wine country for our spring event on April 30th.  14 members and their guests enjoyed the afternoon at Buena Vista’s Count/Countess wine-making blending experience.  An impromptu start with cheese, meats, and crackers (Thank you Brette!) outside the venue in the sun allowed us to experience the joie de vivre- the joy of life!   We then were transported into an era of days gone by in the elite, exclusive all-white lounge surrounded by the original walls of California’s first premium winery.  In addition, wildlife was spotted in the lounge and members enjoyed the picture opportunities.  While in the lounge we tasted the incredible limited La Victoire Brut Champagne along with JCB’s limited edition sparkling wines numbers 00, 13 and 21 which represent the wine lifestyle.  After our bottles were finished we ventured into the historic caves from 1857 where we mixed Zinfandel, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah in order to create a special blend.  That special blend then was then bottled, corked and labeled by the attendees for an innovating experience.   Bottle names such as Pink Ribbon Blend, Free Angus, Year of Yes, Barracuda Blend, Belivin, Viva Viamontes and Hoffman Mountain to name a few decorated the mantel before parting for the day.  Cheers to those who attended!

January 22, 2016: Induction Dinner at the French Club
On January 22nd we celebrated the Feast of Saint Vincent with an all time high 10 new inductees to the San Francisco Chapter. We had 52 members and guests in attendance to this five course dinner accompanied with French sparkling and wines..  Again I would like to welcome our new members: Marwa Alkordy, Karin Baird, Jole Braun, Dan Foster, Michael Hinton, Samer Itani, Natalie Landsinger, Theresa Nguyen, Samantha Otts, and Randy Robertson and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.  A special thank you goes Marcus Joseph Garcia for arranging such a fabulous dinner and to Chrissa Imports for the amazing wines that paired deliciously with the meal. Your efforts are greatly appreciated! I hope everyone who attended had a great time.  

July 18, 2015: Jeanne D'Arc
Our summer event will take place in July. We will be headng back to Jeanne d'Arc restaurant as Mr. Lambert has announced they will be closing at the end of this year. As this is the case. we will visit there this last time for an outstanding send off. I hope you can make this last hoorah to savor the flavor of France in San Francisco!

April 23-26, 2015: International Wine Congress- HUGE SUCCESS!

The International Wine Congress was a huge success with over 50 individuals from SF, Portland and Montreal attending the three day event.
Our first day started in the Sonoma Valley at Benziger with a Biodynamic tour and tasting in the vineyards and reserve tasting room. Sebastiani was the second stop of the day which consisted of a tasting and lunch on the patio during a beautiful sunny spring day. To wrap up Friday, the evening activity took us to San Francisco. A delicious four course dinner with wines were served at the French Club.

Our second day in Napa started early at the 13th century castle replica known as Castello di Amorosa. A tour of the castle, the dungeon then a private tasting in the great hall was just what the king ordered. Once we finished our last taste, we ventured off to the oldest winery in the Napa Valley, Charles Krug, for a tasting, barrel tasting and lunch. We then dared to experience Raymond with a visit to their private Red Room where we had the JCB sparkling, followed by a tour then additional tasting of their reserve wines in the Crystal cellar. To wrap up Saturday, we ventured back into San Francisco for a five course dinner at Jeanne d’Arc in San Francisco. Always an amazing feast with tasty wines.

Sunday we ventured back to the Napa Valley and experienced a relaxing morning that started with a toast at Domaine Chandon. We had the entire garden patio all to ourselves and bottle service of numerous wines were poured. Even the wine wizard from Portland made an appearance and blessed all our glasses. I want to toast all of the members from our chapter who attended along with the members from Portland and Montreal who helped make the event a success.

January 23rd, 2015- Induction dinner at the French Club

Oct. 19, 2014 Fall Event in the Livermore Valley
Our fall was held on Sunday, Oct. 19th in the Livermore Valley Wine Country. The Livermore Valley Wine Country is one of California's oldest wine regions and is home to more than 50 wineries.  Our journey started at McGrail Vineyards  which is a family owned winery who prides themselves in their Cabernet Sauvignon. From McGrail we headed to the historical site of Wente Winery which was founded 130 years ago. This stop offered us a  unique perspective of the country's oldest continuously operated family-owned winery. Our last stop of the day was the undiscovered Tenuta Winery where their slogan is "FFL", Friends for Life, and was founded in 2002. They are know for their estate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Come experience great wine and sunshine!

July 19th, 2014: Dinner at Jeanne D'arc
The Summer 14' SF Chapter enjoyed an amazing dinner at the well know French restaurant Jeanne D'arc on Thursday July 10th.  36 members, guests and potential new members were in attendance.  This was a delicious meal starting with Champagne (Domaine J Laurier) paired with appetizers such as Caviar and Pate.  The most popular dinner choice was the Carre d'Agneau des Alpages(Lamb) followed by the Filet Mignon Sauce Forestiere, Magret de Canard de Provence(Duck) and Fletran Amphitrite(Halibut).   For those who had attended this event in the past, there was excitement for the Soufflé au Grand Marnier dessert!  The dinner was paired with French wines.  The white being a Les Chataigniers Sancerre and the reds being a Chateneau de Pape (La Fiole) and Chateau Redon Saint -Emilion.  A grand feast was had while dining in France....ok San Francisco's charming French restaurant!  La nuit etait magnificent!

April 13, 2014:  Winemaker for the day at Raymond Winery
For this Confrerie event we experienced the WHOLE WINERY EXPERIENCE!  It was one of the most unusual , fun tasting experiences in the Napa Valley. We all became a winemaker for the day. We started our day in the Red Room with some bubbly from JCB then proceeded into the lab. Dance music was playing and we all got into the winemaker character with our silver hats and lab coats. We created our own Bordeaux-style red wine. It may have taken use 3 or 4 blends (wink wink!!) but we all ended up with a fantastic blend that we all think was better than the others. . We even created our own wine label, bottl;ed our wine and stuck on the label just like a winemaker would and brought home our own 750ml bottle of our award winning blend. It was a fun and fantastic day with our members and potential new members.

 January 24, 2014 :Our annual Saint Vincent Induction Dinner at the French Club in San Francisco
On January 24th we celebrated the Feast of Saint Vincent with five new inductees to the San Francisco Chapter and 1 new inductee to the Portland Chapter. With an all time high attendance of 54 members and guests, this five course dinner accompanied with French sparkling and wines satisfied all attendees.  Again I would like to welcome Linda Hoffman, Mitchell Landsinger,  Maria Schneider, Douglas and Mary Danielak and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.  A special thank you goes out to the six  members of the Portland Chapter who traveled down for this event, Rolando for arranging such a fabulous dinner and to Chris Hildebrandt for the amazing wines that paired deliciously with the meal. Your efforts are greatly appreciated! I hope everyone who attended had a great time.  As a reminder, you may purchase any of those wines from the evening at a special discounted rate for Confrerie members so please let me know if you are interested.

October 6th, 2013- Bocce By The Bay
Bocce and wine on Treasure Island?? Well if it wasn’t for our chapter member Shirley Victor we wouldn’t have known either! 24 of our members and friends enjoyed a relaxing day with a private wine tasting at Winery SF, VIE and Sol Rouge wineries then enjoyed the rest of the day with a picnic lunch and a friendly game of bocce ball plus a great view of the Bay Bridge and downtown SF . It’s was a sneakers and shorts kind of day.  Winery– SF brings the “California wine experience” to San Francisco. VIE winery makes high quality, limited production Rhone varietal and Zinfandel based wines. Sol Rouge is focused on producing wine from the grape varietals of Southern France's Rhone and  Bordeaux regions.  We came and experienced the “wine country escape” in the city with a beautiful  backdrop of the San Francisco Bay!  It’s was best of both worlds.

July 11, 2013 - Dinner at L'Olivier Restaurant in San Francisco:
Welcome to L"Olivier- A french restaurant since 1978. This long time San Francisco dining favorite is conveniently nestled off a charming park just steps away from the Embarcadero Waterfront. The 22 attendees were served a gourmet 5-course meal paired with wine and Lamb as the main entree. Dinner was be served in the wood paneled "Le Club Room" accented with romantic works of French art. This French gourmet event made us say "Oh la la". 

April 27, 2013 - Castello Di Amorosa Tour in Napa:
The April 27th spring event took place on a beautiful sunny day at Castello di  Amorosa which is an authentically-styled 13th century Tuscan castle and winery in the northern part of the Napa Valley. 19 members and guests toured this spectacular medieval castle, which lead them through the dining rooms, towers, barrels in the knight’s chambers, and a torture chamber. Yes a realistic torture chamber in California with an authentic 300-yr old iron   maiden, prison chambers and   other torture devices!  A fantastic treat for those who attended. Many had comments such as "Wow, a once in a lifetime experience", "this is the best event we have been to in a long time" and "The Torture chamber is amazing and ouch”. After the tour we ventured into the royal apartment located in one of the towers. There we tasted the wines which were perfectly paired with appetizers. We were then guided into the main tasting room with all the tourists and tasted additional varietals. Our soon to be member Mitchell Landsinger even joined the exclusive "Cinque Cento Cavalieri", a wine club which is an exclusive club limited to only 500 members!
